IATSE Local 478 makes its political decisions backed on the primary issues for which this union is obligated to do. Those fundamental issues are our members’ economic well-being, retirement surety, the right to bargain a contract and the resources available for proper staffing and training for safety as well as craft advancement.
We stand with the candidates who have a record of standing with the IATSE and whose policies stand to benefit our members when it comes to those essential issues.
Whether or not our members use IATSE Local 478’s basket of issues to guide their voting or their personal basket of issues such as same sex marriage, pro-choice, pro-life or the 2nd Amendment is up to them.
It is our function and responsibility to make our recommendations based on where the candidates stand on IATSE issues, labor issues and things that are crucial to you and your family’s well-being.
