CLAIMING DEATH BENEFITS

Local 478's Welfare Committee approved a fund many years ago to help our Good Standing Union Members in times like these.  For each year a member is in good standing, a one-time contribution towards funeral expenses can be claimed for that member, or any other immediate family member, in the amount of $500 per year of continuous Good Standing, with a maximum allowance of $ 5,000.

Death benefit claims must be submitted to the local 478 office with proof of death such as an obituary notice and copy of Death certificate.
